Rupantaran implemented a demonstration project entitled “Bio-engineering Intervention Demonstrations for Landslide Prevention in Karnali Province (BIDLSP-KP)” with financial support from UNOPS/GEF/SGP in Wards 3 and 12 of Dullu Municipality, Dailekh District of Nepal. The project had envisioned developing ownership of the disaster-vulnerable communities in restoring, managing, and maintaining the degraded land for the benefit of the communities, as well as natural systems and biodiversity conservation. The project was implemented from 23 June 2023 to 31 May 2025 with the aim of reducing the landslide risk and vulnerability of the identified project sites in Dullu Municipality by adopting Nature-based structural mitigation measures (Bio-engineering/Crib wall technology).

The project was implemented in a small geographical area as a pilot initiative with the primary aim of demonstrating a low-cost bio-engineering technique as a nature-based solution to control landslides and flooding.
